Well, it HAS been a while, hasn’t it?

So whats new?

I have kids now…. so being a girl dad is pretty rad.

I am no longer coaching soccer at Lubbock HS. I am strictly Cross Country and Girl’s Track.

Depression still sucks, but I think I am learning to manage it a little bit better and do it in healthier ways.

I did my first 70.3 in a LONG time two weeks ago, and it went about as well as could be expected. I survived, learned that i am fit enough (read, stupid enough) to raw dog a 70.3 and not die…

So where am I going with all of this? Kendall and I had a nice long chat on my birthday trip. We are going to figure out how to manage me getting back into racing. The race in New Mexico a couple weeks ago reminded me that, even moving as slowly as I did, I REALLY enjoyed the sport and doing the hard things. A race write up is forthcoming, there was a WHOLE LOT to unpack from that weekend. Looking back, I know I have a ton of “back in the habit” posts. It seems like they all mention it to some extent. Which tells me my heart wants to, but previously I let my head and anxiety get the better of me.

I am doing this in another attempt to hold myself accountable. To take some time to put the craziness in my head onto paper so it gets out of my way. To give myself a way to lay a blueprint for other people who might have some of the same problems I have to find a way to (or NOT to) do things to reach a goal they have set.

This week I will be embarking on a journey back to triathlon fitness and racing. Id love for anyone who wants to follow along to enjoy these, laugh at me, with me, and enjoy the ride. I know I am going to. Right now the only solid race on my plate for next year is Ruidoso 70.3 (I want another shot at that race.) There will be more added in and I will be keeping tabs on everything here.

Thanks for stopping by! See y’all soon!
